    Ragda chaat is a spicy, tangy and flavourful Indian chaat recipe made with dried white peas. It's one of the popular street foods of India. It's quite simple to prepare at home and can be served as a quick snack. Trying street style chaat recipes at home is always fun and it's healthy too. Green chutney and tamarind chutney are the two important chaat chutneys used in almost all chaat recipes. The drizzle of these two chutneys makes this chaat irresistible.

Ragda chaat - A spicy and flavourful Indian street food made with dried peas, topped with onion, tomato, sev and chaat chutneys.

Ingredients
    For The Ragda
  • 1 cup Dried white peas
  • 3 cups Water
  • 1 or 2 medium sized Potato
  • 3 tsp Oil
  • 1 chopped Onion
  • 1 chopped Tomato
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  • Salt as required
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp Chaat masala
  • To serve
  • 2 - 3 tbsp chopped Onion
  • 2 - 3 tbsp chopped Tomato
  • 2 tsp Tamarind chutney
  • 2 tsp Green chutney
  • 2 - 3 tsp Sev

Instructions
  • Soak the dried white peas in 2 cups of water overnight and drain the water completely.


  • Take soaked peas in a pressure cooker and pour 2 cups of water.


  • Add the peeled, chopped potatoes and let the water boil.


  • Pressure cook for 3 - 4 whistles on a medium flame and mash the cooked potatoes well with a wooden ladle.


  • Take some oil in a pan and saute the onion, ginger-garlic paste, and tomato for 3 - 4 minutes.


  • Add all the masalas. Mix well and cook for 2 - 3 minutes.


  • Transfer the cooked peas and potato into the pan and add some water.


  • Cook on a low flame for 4 - 5 minutes.


  • Serve the ragda hot with the chopped onion, tomato, sev, some tamarind, and green chutney!
