Easy Raisin Bread Rolls | Homemade Soft Raisin Buns



Raisin Bread Rolls are fluffy, soft, tender, bouncy and filled with black and golden raisins. 

Kneading the dough is very important when you're making bread. The more you knead the more it becomes elastic and smooth. I simplified this recipe using an electric hand mixer with the dough hook attachment to save some elbow grease. 

These warm dinner rolls are so easy to make and hard to resist! Making them is way more fun than making a loaf of bread. 

I can’t wait to try out more bread recipes with this easy method that is perfect for beginner bakers.

 


Ingredients for Raisin Bread Rolls 

  •  all-purpose flour 
  •  Milk powder 
  •  Sugar 
  •  Salt 
  •  Instant Active Yeast 
  •  Warm Milk 
  •  Egg 
  •  Butter 
  •  Raisins 
  •  1 Egg + 2 tbsp Milk (for eggwash)



 










How to make Raisin Bread Rolls - Step-by-step pictures 


 Place the flour, milk powder, salt, and sugar in a large mixing bowl.
Mix well with a whisk.
Add in the instant active yeast, warm milk and egg.
Knead the dough with the electric hand mixer for about 8 minutes on low to medium speed.
Add in the melted butter.
Knead the dough for about 5 minutes on low to medium speed.
Add in the raisins and mix gently.
Brush the dough and bowl with oil.
Cover the bowl with cling film.
Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 - 2 hours or until the dough has doubled in size.
Turn the dough onto a lightly floured working surface.
Gently flatten the dough with your hands and divide it into 8 pieces.
Shape into smooth balls.
Carefully place them on paper liners.
Cover and let them rise again for 1 hour.
After the second rise, beat the egg and milk in a small bowl for eggwash.
Brush the rolls with beaten egg mixture.
Bake at 180°C for 20 - 25 minutes or until nicely golden brown.
Remove the buns from the oven and brush with melted butter immediately. Place on a wire rack to cool.
