DIY edible glitter! It's a colourful and sparkling way to dress up your cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and other baked goods.



Add a little sparkle to your baked goods by dusting them with edible glitter. 


Making your own edible glitter at home can be easy and fun. There are different methods of making edible glitter at home.

 This edible glitter made using gelatin doesn’t taste like anything but it does add a bit of a crunch.

  It's very easy to make at home with only 4 simple ingredients. 


 Edible Glitter Ingredients 

 cold Water 
 powdered Gelatin 
 Vanilla extract 
 Food colours as required (liquid or gel)














How to make Edible Glitter - Step by step pictures

 
 Take cold water in a bowl and sprinkle in the gelatin powder.
Mix well and let it sit for 5 - 10 minutes.
Microwave for 1 - 2 minutes to melt the bloomed gelatin. You can also use double boiler.
Mix in the vanilla extract.
Divide the mixture into 3 or 4 portions.
Mix in the desired food colours.
Pour gelatin onto a plastic sheet. Spread it with a pastry brush.
Let the gelatin dry overnight.
They'll start peeling up on their own.
Cut the dried gelatin sheets into pieces.
Blend until they're very fine. You can use a blender or a food processor.
Sieve the ground glitter. This step is optional.
Repeat with the remaining colours.
Edible metallic glitter is ready to use!
Store in an airtight container. Sprinkle this glitter on cupcakes, cakes, iced sugar cookies, cake pops and much more.
