Microwave potato fry | Tasty Aloo fry in microwave | Indian potato fry in microwave


   Potato fry is a tasty side dish, loved by most of the people. This is a typical Indian style potato fry recipe that is popular all over India. Cubed potatoes, tossed with basic Indian spices are stir-fried till the edges become crisp. It goes well with all kinds of rice recipes like sambar rice, curd rice, and lemon rice. Here's the microwave version of Everyone's favorite potato fry recipe.


   Microwave made this yummy recipe possible in less than ten minutes. Approximately it'll take around 5 minutes to cook the potatoes. And the tempering part takes around 2 - 3 minutes. You can alter the tempering as per your taste and style. You can even skip the tempering if you don't want to add. I usually add a few mustard seeds without fail, particularly for this recipe since I love it's taste with the fried potatoes. So this is totally up to you but the cooking method is always the same!

Indian Potato Fry - a spicy and tasty side dish for rice varieties. It is an easy and simple side to make on the microwave in just a few minutes.

Ingredients
  • 2 or 3 Potatoes (medium-sized)
  • 3 - 4 tsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • A few curry leaves (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • Salt as required

Instructions
  • Peel and chop the potatoes into bite-size cubes.
  • Take oil, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves in a small microwave-safe bowl.
  • Mix well and microwave on high power for 2 - 3 minutes.
  • Take the bowl out and add the cubed potatoes.
  • Add in all the spices and mix them well with the potatoes.
  • To make the potatoes crispy, coat with some more oil (This step is optional).
  • Microwave on high power for 4 - 5 minutes.
  • Spicy and crispy potato fry is ready!

    Microwave potato fry - Step by step pictures

    Peel and chop the potatoes into bite-sized cubes.


    In a small microwave-safe bowl add in the oil. You can use any oil you like.


    Add in the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves.



    Mix well with oil and place the bowl on a microwave.


    Microwave the tempering on high power for 2 - 3 minutes.


    Take the bowl out and add the cubed potatoes.


    Add in all the spices one by one.



    Mix the spices well with the potatoes.



    To make the potatoes crispy, coat with some more oil (This step is optional).



    Microwave on high power for 4 - 5 minutes.


    Potatoes are cooked well. You can check with a fork.


    Spicy and crispy potato fry is ready!
