A creamy fruit salad recipe to satisfy your sweet cravings every time and it's a perfect dessert to serve after a good meal. As per your preference you can make it on a stovetop or on a microwave. The custard powder should be dissolved in milk properly without lumps, that'll give a slightly thick creamy texture to the milk. So the one most important step in making this recipe is heating up the milk to dissolve the custard. It will be good if it's serve chilled. So you can make this salad before preparing your meal and place it in the freezer. It'll be ready to have after your meal.
Custard Fruit Salad recipe on microwave - Step by step pictures
In a microwave safe wide bowl, add 2 cups of boiled milk. If you want to make this recipe on stove top take milk in a sauce pan.Heat the milk in microwave or stovetop. If you want to heat the milk on microwave, microwave it on high power for 3 minutes.
In a separate bowl, add 2 tbsp. of custard powder and 3 tbsp. of milk.
Dissolve custard powder with milk gently without any lumps.
Now gradually add this mixture in hot milk, by stirring continuously.
After adding the custard mixture completely, add in some sugar as per your taste.
Now place the bowl back in microwave and microwave it for another 3 to 4 minutes on high power. If you are doing this on the stove top, you can do it continuously without switching off the flame.
Whisk it well, you'll notice a change in the consistency of the custard mixture. It'll become slightly thicker. Switch off the flame now if you are making it on the stove top.
Now you can start adding fruits and you can choose any fruits as I previously said. I have used 5 different fruits, chop them into bite size pieces before adding.
Gently mix all of them with a spatula and let it chill in the freezer for 10 minutes.
Now you will see the custard has thickened little more making the fruit salad more creamy. Mix it up well with a spatula and serve it in a dessert bowl. Garnish this salad with some nuts or dry fruits.
