Homemade Crispy Potato Chips | Thin crispy potato chips | How to make potato chips



     Crispy, crunchy and tasty appetizer or snack with very less efforts at home and these thinly sliced fried potatoes will make you feel heavenly and zestful. Since it's homemade you have the flexibility to choose your own seasonings and make it more enjoyable.

     Potato chips can be either fried or be baked until it gets it's crunch. If you want to make it healthier go for baking, people also make potato chips on microwave but that's totally up to you to decide on it. It's gonna be enjoyable in any way. The type of potatoes you choose decides the quality and the appearance of the chips. Potatoes are available in  different varieties and sizes across the world and you have to choose good quality medium sized potatoes among them, in that way your potato chips will look more appetizing and attractive.


    More importantly you have to slice the potatoes really thin since that's gonna make your chips crispier and for slicing the potatoes you can use your vegetable cutter or food processor with the slicing attachment. You can also use a sharp knife to slice the potatoes if you are much more experienced.

Homemade thin and crispy deep-fried potato chips.


Ingredients
  • 2 medium sized Potatoes
  • 4 cups Cold water
  • 1/2 tsp Salt (for soaking)
  • Salt as required (for seasoning)
  • Black pepper or Paprika as required (for seasoning)

Instructions

  1. Take 2 medium sized clean potatoes and remove their peel with a peeler.
  2. Cut the potatoes into thin slices. You can either use your vegetable cutter or a sharp knife but the slices should be really thin.
  3. Now take a wide bowl with 4 cups of cold water in it. Add your sliced potatoes in cold water with some salt.
  4. Let the potato slices soak in cold water for 20 minutes.
  5. After 20 minutes, strain the potatoes out and let it dry completely since we are going to fry it in hot oil.
  6. Fry the potato slices in medium hot oil until it turns crispy and take it out in a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  7. Season the potato chips with some salt and paprika immediately.
