Christmas Fruit cake | Delicious Rich Christmas Plum cake
Delicious, rich, moist and flavourful alcohol-free Christmas fruit cake that is packed with dried fruits and nuts.
This is one simple and incredibly easy version of making a traditional fruit cake that’s perfect for Christmas or all year round.
You can substitute alcohol with Orange Juice or apple juice. I soaked the dry fruits in orange juice for 12 hours at room temperature.
This cake is so flavourful and moist that it can be eaten plain.

Ingredients for Christmas Fruit cake
For Fruit Soaking
- Orange juice
- Dark raisins
- Golden raisins
- Dried kiwi
- Dried cherries
- Tutti frutti
- chopped dates
- chopped Nuts
For Fruit cake
- Eggs
- Brown sugar
- White sugar
- Melted Butter
- Vanilla extract
- Milk
- all-purpose flour
- ground Cinnamon
- ground Ginger
- Baking powder
- Baking soda
- Salt
Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a cake tin with parchment paper. Chop dates, cherries and kiwi into small pieces.
Take the raisins, chopped dates, cherries, kiwi, and the tutti frutti in a bowl. Pour in the orange juice and mix well.
Cover and let them soak for a minimum of 12 hours.
Add in the chopped nuts.
Coat everything with flour and set aside.
Take the eggs, brown sugar and white sugar in a bowl.
Beat with an electric hand mixer until foamy for about 3 - 4 minutes.
Mix in the melted butter and vanilla extract.
Sift together the flour, ground cinnamon, ginger, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Gradually add in the dry ingredients and milk. Gently whisk the ingredients until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps.
Fold in the soaked fruits and nuts.
Pour onto the prepared baking pan. Tap the pan several times to remove large air bubbles. Sprinkle more nuts and dry fruits on top.
Bake the cake at 180°C for 40 - 50 minutes. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean.
Invert the cake onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Slice and serve!
