Line a cake tin with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 180°C. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Mix well and set aside.
Take the egg, vanilla extract, brown sugar and white sugar in another bowl.
Beat with an electric hand mixer until foamy for about 3 - 4 minutes.
Mix in the melted butter.
Gradually add in the dry ingredients.
Mix gently with a whisk.
Pour in the hot coffee.
Gently whisk the ingredients until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps.
Gently fold in the chopped chocolate.
Pour onto the prepared baking pan. Tap the pan several times to remove large air bubbles.
Bake the cake at 180°C for 35 - 40 minutes.
Bake until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean.
Invert the cake onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Chop the chocolate into small pieces.
Take cream in a microwave-safe mug. Microwave the cream for 30 seconds and pour it over the chocolate.
Mix well until smooth.
Pour the chocolate ganache over the cooled cake and spread it evenly.
Draw circles on the cake with some whipped cream.
Use a skewer to create a web effect by dragging it from the centre to the edge.
I used Cadbury shots for the spider.
Let the ganache set fully before serving.
