Orange cookies | Soft and tasty orange cookies in the oven | Orange crinkle cookies | Orange biscuits
What could be better than these extra impressive orange cookies with a glass of cold milk? These cookies are easy, delicious, soft, and zesty. The dough is flavored with orange juice and zest, freshly baked in the oven at home. I'm not a very big citrus fan but I feel like they work wonders when they're used as flavoring agents in baked goods like cookies, cakes, and muffins.
I have used a few drops of orange food color to make the cookies look orangey and tempting. You can store these crinkle cookies at room temperature for 3 - 4 days in an airtight jar. Also, check out a few other cookie recipes like Eggless sugar cookies and Whole wheat cookies.

Sieve together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
Mix well with a whisk and set aside.
In another large mixing bowl, add the cubed butter and powdered sugar.
Mix until fluffy.
Once creamed, combine in the egg and orange zest.
Add in the freshly squeezed orange juice.
Mix in some orange food color if needed.
Gradually beat into creamed mixture and mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
Cover the bowl with cling film and chill the dough in the freezer for 1 or 2 hours.
Roll rounded tablespoonfuls of dough into balls, and place onto a greased cookie tray. Flatten the balls out slightly with the back of the spoon.
Place the tray on a preheated oven of 160° C.
Bake the cookies for 10 - 15 minutes or until the cookies are just beginning to turn brown around the edges.
Let sit on baking sheet for a few minutes after removal from oven and then move to complete cooling.
Store in an airtight jar and enjoy!
